Around 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, generating strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Damage
Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victorian Weather Woes
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in Victoria also encountered power outages after Melbourne saw its wettest day in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.
